7-Day Trek : 15 June - 28 June 2008

By the end of June, a 7-day-trek will set the starting point to the trekking season. A very spectacular and exciting trip. Travelling through valleys, rivers, streams, over mountain passes, green steps covered with a multitude of flowers, accompanied by singing Mongolian horsemen. Eagles flying high above in the blue sky with their sharp cries. All kind of animals : woodpeckers, Golden Serbian gees, insects of all shape and sizes, deer, mice, prairie dog, squirrel. Springs flow straight out of the mountain sides, fish swim up rivers from the lake. Blue skies, star sprinkled nights, fantastic rainbows as a back drop. Pure romanticism in one of the remotest countries of the world. Truly magical is the only way to describe it.

Programme

15 June	arrival in Ulaan Baatar - capital of Mongolia - transfer from the airport to the hotel You will be met by a travel guide at the airport. Your travel guide will accompany you during your stay in Ulaan Baatar and will be glad to answer any question you may have.
16 June	visit Ulaan Baatar Monasteries:  Gandantegchinlen Khiid, largest and most important monastery in Mongolia and Winter Palace of Bogd Khaan, home of Mongolia's last king Art Gallery :  Mongolian Art Gallery Museum : National Museum of Mongolian History
17 June	departure from Ulaan Baatar to Moron - capital of Hovsgol province - transfer from the airport to Toilogt Get a first glimpse at the camp situated in a stunning location on the western shore of Hovsgol Lake.
18 June	camp near Moron; trek preparation
19 June	start trek
20-25 June	trek
26 June	camp Toilogt; performance of traditional music and dance
27 June	return to Ulaan Baatar (jeep/plane) You will be met by your travel guide at Ulaan Baatar airport who accompanies you on the transfer to the hotel and for dinner.
28 June	departure from Ulaan Baatar

• Domestic flights in Mongolia, airport taxes for domestic flights, transfers, hotels, admissions (museum, monastery etc.), traditional music and dances
