TrekMongolia

About Us

Activities and People

They love fresh air, sport, virgin nature and, above all, horses - Christian Wolff, manager of a human resources consulting agency, and Mireille Wolff-Musy repeatedly interrupted their professional activities in order to undertake extensive trips around the world. Lazing on a crowded beach has never been their thing, and they undertook several long treks in the Himalayas and Australia. But the most exciting place they had the chance to visit was definitely Mongolia, a country of infinite steppes and stunning beauty.

Celebration organised by friends for Mireille and Christian in honour of their wedding

The moments they lived in that country gave Mireille and Christian the idea to share their experiences with other people. Thanks to the excellent contacts they could build up in Mongolia, they finally had the opportunity to create TrekMongolia in 1999.

Robin was born on January 9th, 2004 and made his first journey to Mongolia in summer 2004.
In the following year, on March 11th, 2005, Jay was born.
He became a little travel fellow at the age of 3 months only.

The purpose of these trips is to actively visit an amazingly beautiful country, to get in touch with its natives, and to learn about foreign culture and traditions.

Apart from following their sporting activities, Mireille and Christian also attach a huge importance to local projects aimed at helping the local people to find new and vital sources of income - production of soap and making cheese are just a few examples. Equally important is the raise of funds to preserve the natural beauty of Hovsgol National Park, and the setting up of a system to collect and dispose of the waste is also a very important challenge.

Mongolia has opened its doors to tourism just a few years ago. Giving respectful people, who are interested in different cultures and customs, the possibility to experience a fascinating and widely untouched country has always been part of the philosophy of TrekMongolia. The land offers many ways to escape the hectic and restless life of the western world and to experience a truly new way to travel.
